BIRMINGHAM – Highlighted by an early season road game at Navy and October home contests against Army and Memphis, the complete UAB Football schedule has been released.
For a fourth straight season and seven of the last eight years, UAB's season opener is set for a Thursday night in Birmingham as the Blazers welcome Alabama State to Protective Stadium on Aug. 28. These two teams last met to open the 2019 season as UAB defeated ASU 24-19 in front of 39,165 fans.
The Blazers then jump right into American Conference action with a Week 2 road trip at Navy on Saturday, Sept. 6. Two non-conference games follow with Akron at home (Sept. 13) and then playing at 2024 College Football Playoff participant Tennessee (Sept. 20).
Following an open week, UAB returns to Protective Stadium to host reigning American Conference Champion Army on Oct. 4. Army is coming off its best season in program history with a record of 12-2. The Blazers then travel to Boca Raton for an away contest at Florida Atlantic on Oct. 11.
The annual Battle For The Bones rivalry game between UAB and Memphis returns to Birmingham on Oct. 18, followed by UAB's second and final bye week of the season.
As the calendar turns to November, UAB has back-to-back road trips at UConn (Nov. 1) and at Rice (Nov. 8) before returning to Protective Stadium for consecutive home games against 2024 bowl participant teams North Texas (Nov. 15) and South Florida (Nov. 22).
