Daniel Named American Conference Pitcher of the Week

BIRMINGHAM - Junior right-handed pitcher Colin Daniel has been named American Conference Pitcher of the Week after his performance on Saturday in a 7-6 victory over Towson.
The Preseason American Conference Pitcher of the Year tossed seven innings and allowed two runs in his season debut while striking out four, walking one and earning the win. Daniel faced four batters or less in five of his seven innings of work on just 87 pitches. He forced a ground out on 12 of his 21 outs.
This is the first time Daniel has been named American Conference Pitcher of the week in his career, and the fifth conference honor overall.
The Blazers are back in action on Tuesday as they face Alabama A&M at 2 p.m. It's $2 Tuesday at Young Memorial Field as tickets will be just $2. UAB stays home to face South Alabama on Friday-Sunday Feb. 21-23. Friday and Saturday will be at 2 p.m. while the Sunday game will begin at 1 p.m.
