Multiple Blazers Set Personal Bests Among Packed Field at Bob Pollock Invite

CLEMSON - The UAB Track & Field team completed a two-day meet at the Bob Pollock Invitational at the Clemson Track & Field Complex. Along with the Blazers and Tigers, Auburn, Charlotte, Georgia Tech, NC State, Syracuse were among teams participating this weekend.
On Friday, Christiana Mudd got the Blazers' weekend started long jumping her personal best of 5.50 meters (18' 0.5"). Additionally, Mudd also set her personal best in the 60m Hurdles Semis with a time of 8.68. Taylor Washington ran her season best in the 60m Hurdles with a time of 9.07. Corrine Ball also ran her personal best time in the event on Friday.
Lidia Longo placed 11th out of 40 in the 1 Mile run. Longo ran her personal best time of 4:57.76, which is now the 10th best 1 Mile indoor time in UAB school history. Lia Castillo also ran her personal best 1 Mile time with a mark of 5:04.69.
In the weight throw, Birthe Franck-Petersen threw for her season best mark at 14.70m (48' 2 ¾"). Franck-Petersen's throw on Friday was the 4th best weight throw in school history.
Victoria Freeland and Noelle Hambrick represented the Green and Gold in the Pole Vault. Both Freeland and Hambrick vaulted a mark of 3.48m (11' 5"), with Freeland setting her personal best. The duo also sit tied for the 9th best Pole Vault mark in school history.
Leticia Quingostas set her personal best time in the 400m with a time of 57.30.
Hope Foster and Olivia Beard high jumped for the Blazers to kick off Saturday's action. Foster came in with a mark of 1.61m (5' 3 ¼") while Beard came in at 1.56m (5' 1 ¼"). Foster's jump on Saturday morning is now tied for the ninth best indoor high jump in school history, joining Beard.
Birthe Franck-Petersen continues to etch her name in UAB school history books. The senior from Norway threw her second best Shot Put mark coming in at 13.54m (44' 5 ¼"). Franck-Petersen now holds the top six Shot Put throws in school history, and eight of the top 10.
Christiana Mudd also threw for her Shot Put personal best with a mark of 12.69m (41' 7 ¾").
Hannah Smith and Eriyanna Reed set their personal bests in the 200m. Smith came in at 25.18 and Reed came in at 25.43.
Lidia Longo and Kenlie Nelson ran the 3000m race and set their personal bests on Saturday. Longo finished with a time of 10:10.27 and Nelson finished fourth out of 16 in Heat 4 with a time of 10:19.02.
The Blazers' 'A' team, consisting of Leticia Quingostas, Christiana Mudd, Gabby Washington, and Hannah Smith won Heat 4 of the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:50.82. The quartet of Blazers ran the 10th fastest 4x400 time in school history to cap off the weekend.
UAB returns to action on Friday as it hosts the UAB Vulcan Invite and Saturday for the UAB Green and Gold Invite. Action for both days begin at 9 a.m. at the Birmingham Crossplex.
