Track & Field Opens Season at Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker

BIRMINGHAM – Friday marks the opening day of Indoor Track & Field season as the Blazers head to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Birmingham Indoor Icebreaker. This event was previously hosted by Birmingham Southern, but is now privately run. The action begins at 8:30 a.m.
THE FIELD
Along with the Green and Gold, teams competing on Friday are Alabama, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Samford, Troy, Tulane, and others.
THIS TIME LAST YEAR
Gabby Washington and Leticia Quingostas finished seventh and eighth overall respectively in the 400m and Jasmine Dereje placed 10th. Quingostas won section 5 with a time of 58:28. Hope Foster set the bar in the High Jump with a mark of 1.60m.
NEW FACES IN NEW PLACES
The Blazers welcome 15 new athletes to the team this season with 14 of them being freshmen.
HOMEGROWN TALENT
13 Alabamians are on the 2025-26 roster.
