A Letter to Blazer Nation from Coach Mortensen

Blazer Nation,
As I said at my opening press conference, I want to thank our players for their resiliency and belief in me and that have afforded me the great honor to lead this program.
I believe in this program and the plan we have in place. We have a great city and passionate fans, are surrounded by a recruiting radius rich with talent, are blessed with incredible facilities, and represent a strong institution with supportive leadership. We all have a desire to win. And with each of you behind us, I am confident we will bring winning football back to Birmingham.
I'm also grateful for UAB leadership's commitment to increasing resources for athletics as we adapt together to the new NCAA landscape.
In this competitive and complex environment, many of you have already reached out to ask how you can help. We are in a revenue share era, and continuing to grow revenues will position us to compete. To simplify, here is how you can help as we launch this new chapter of UAB Football:
· Purchase Season Tickets. We need you with us during all six home games. Your passion and support will make Protective Stadium the toughest destination in our conference. Click here to purchase or request more information here.
· Contribute to the Competitive Excellence Fund. This fund enhances the ability to recruit and retain the best student-athletes. Relationships and development will always be at the core of what we do, but positioning this program to compete for talent is crucial to success. Help position UAB Football by contributing today.
· Rep the Green & Gold. UAB is a nationally recognized brand. Represent UAB proudly in your community, and know that every purchase from merchandise and team apparel is reinvested back into our athletics programs.
