BIRMINGHAM – UAB senior running back Jevon Jackson has been named an Honorable Mention by the conference office on Monday after his performance on Saturday against Tulsa. It is the first time this season Jackson has been tabbed with weekly conference honors.
Jackson rushed for 117 yards on 23 carries and two touchdowns, including the game-winner with 3:40 left in the game in a thrilling 31-24 victory over Tulsa on Saturday. The win was the Blazers' first on the road since November 26, 2022.
Saturday was Jackson's third game of the season with at least 100 yards rushing and the second time he has scored twice in a game. He is the first player since Jermaine Brown Jr. in 2023 with three games of 100 rushing yards or more in a single season.
Jackson caps his redshirt senior season with an even 900 yards on the ground on 167 carries (5.38 yards per carry) and added five touchdowns. His 900 rushing yards ranks seventh in the American Conference. He also caught 19 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.
