Toth Earns AAC Goalkeeper of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's soccer goalkeeper Anika Toth earned American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors, announced by the league office on Monday.
"We are so happy for Anika," head coach Lisa Mann said. "She has been deserving this award. We are delighted she is finally being recognized. She has been huge for us on the field with her performances, but also on and off the field with her leadership."
Toth led the Blazers to their fourth shutout (0-0) this season against No. 15/11 Memphis on Thursday. She had five saves in the match against the Tigers, which was the second most she has had this season.
Toth has recorded 30 saves so far this year and is fifth in the conference in saves with a .789 percentage. She also leads the conference in shutouts and shutouts per game. The shutout against Memphis was Toth's 11thshutout of her career.
This is the second time in Toth's career she has been awarded AAC Goalkeeper of the Week. She was recognized last season for her efforts against Charlotte.
