Blazers Fall at Coastal Carolina, 1-0

CONWAY, S.C. – UAB women's soccer (1-2-1) fell at Coastal Carolina (1-2-2) 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.
At the half, the match remained scoreless with few chances for either side.
UAB had seven shots in the second half, as did Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers were able to capitalize on a penalty kick to put CCU up 1-0 in the 86th minute.
The Blazers had a chance to tie of the game with seven seconds left in the match when goalkeeper Anika Toth took a free kick, but it was saved by Coastal Carolina's goalkeeper Vivenne Carr. The ball bounced off Carr's hand and Abbey Burns was able to net the ball in for a goal, but the time had just run off the clock.
Up next, UAB is back at home to host Ole Miss on Thursday, Sept. 5. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
