Previewing the Football Home Schedule: Game 1 vs. Alcorn State

BIRMINGHAM – In what will be a Party at Protective to kick off the 2024 college football season, the UAB football team hosts Alcorn State on Aug. 29.
This will be the eighth straight year UAB has opened the season with an FCS opponent and the sixth time it will be played on a Thursday night. UAB is 8-0 in season openers since returning to the playing field in 2017.
To kick off the college football season, there will be a $5 drink special on domestic beers at Protective Stadium when UAB opens year two under the direction of head coach Trent Dilfer.
Additionally, there will be ticket offers for local businesses and large group outings, and an opportunity for first year UAB students to lead the Blazers out of the tunnel.
Group tickets and fan experience packages will be available for purchase on a first come, first served basis starting Monday, June 3. Individual and corporate groups can plan a memorable experience at any of UAB's home games this fall by filling out the UAB Football Group Ticket Request Form.
UAB and Alcorn State last played back in 2007 with UAB winning the contest 22-0 at Legion Field in their one and only meeting on the gridiron.

Season ticket packages will feature all six home games during the 2024 football season and provide access to the best available seating at Protective Stadium.
