Sinclair, Women’s Golf Places Second at Brickyard Collegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's golf team tied for second place overall and Grace Sinclair placed second as an individual at the Brickyard Collegiate this week in Macon.
Sinclair had an outstanding week as she shot +2 (73-70-75 = 218). Sinclair was the leader in the clubhouse after 36 holes, but Mikayla Dubnik of Mercer shot four-under 68 in the final round to claim the individual victory.
For Sinclair, it was her team-best second top five finish of the season, while she has placed top 10 three times and top 20 four times.
Emilia Smith also had a strong showing by tying for fifth place overall at +6. Smith's low round of even par came in the second round and she shot 74-72-76 overall.
Freshman Ceci Lococo was UAB's third finisher at +13 (75-76-78 = 229) and tied for 21st overall. Ava Schwartz came in at +17 (76-78-79 = 223, T30) and Anna Krieger rounded out UAB's team efforts in 51st place (86-85-88 = 259, +43).
Playing as an individual, Millburn Ho tied for 42nd overall at +20 (77-80-79 = 236).
The Blazers now turn their attention to the postseason as the American Athletic Conference Championship is set for April 15-17 at the Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Fla.
