UAB WBB Adds Temple Transfer Rayne Tucker

BIRMINGHAM – UAB women's basketball announced the signing of transfer forward Rayne Tucker on Wednesday. The New Carrollton, Maryland native averaged 7.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for Temple last season while shooting 41 percent from the field and tallying 35 blocks.
"We are thrilled to have Rayne join our family," head coach Randy Norton said. "She brings a huge presence inside with her ability to dominate the boards and as a rim protector. Rayne brings a wealth of experience as a veteran player and is a proven winner. She will be another outstanding addition to our team."
Tucker had seven double-doubles for the 2023-24 season, including 15 double figure scoring games. The 6-1 forward had a season-high 19 points against Northwestern, while recording 15 rebounds twice at UAB and East Carolina for a season-best. She saw action in 32 games while starting all 32 games for Temple.
Tucker joined Temple in 2022-23 but had to sit out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Prior to her time at Temple, Tucker spent one season at Towson for her junior year where she averaged 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, while registering 28 blocks. She played in 27 games for the Tigers and was the first on the floor in 18 of those games. Before the season, Tucker earned All-CAA Preseason Honorable Mention.
Before transferring to Towson, Tucker began her college career at James Madison where she was a part of the program for two seasons. During her freshman season (2019-20), Tucker averaged 3.3 points, 4.3 rebounds per game and had 35 blocks. The following season, Tucker had 10.3 points, 6.5 rebounds per game and 26 blocks. She saw action in 21 games with 21 starts.
While at JMU, Tucker was named CAA Player of the Week and selected to the All-CAA Third Team for the 2020-21 season. As a freshman, she was named CAA Rookie of the Week and earned a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team.
For entire colligate career, Tucker has recorded 728 points, 667 rebounds and 124 blocks.
During high school Tucker earned several accolades including NACA First Team All-American, WCAC Honorable Mention two times, WCAC Second Team, Washington Post 2019 All-Met Honorable Mention and McDonalds All-American Game selection. She reached 1,000 career points during her senior season.
Tucker joins Cali Smallwood as the second transfer for the 2024-25 season.
