UAB Football Completes NFL Pro Day

BIRMINGHAM – In front of all 32 NFL teams, eight UAB football players completed Pro Day on Thursday at the Football Operations Center.
Below are highlights from the eight participants who included Demetrius Battle, Jermaine Brown Jr., Nikia Eason Jr., Michael Fairbanks III, Fish McWilliams, Damien Miller, Tejhaun Palmer and Keondre Swoopes.
Running back Jermaine Brown Jr. did 19 reps on bench and ran a 4.50 40-yard dash. Both of those tallies would have ranked him ninth by a running back at the NFL Combine. Brown Jr. also posted a vertical jump of 32.5.
Wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer did 19 reps on the bench and had a 35-inch vertical jump. He also had a 10-2 broad jump and a 4.45 on the 40-yard dash.
Keondre Swoopes had a great showing with 14 reps on bench, a UAB Pro Day best 36.5 vertical and 10-6 broad jump, along with running a 4.48 40-yard dash. His broad jump of 10-6 would have tied him for fourth best amongst safeties at the NFL Combine and his 40-yard dash would have tied him for seventh.
Other notables were 20 reps on bench for Michael Fairbanks II, a 34.5 inch vertical and 4.71 40-yard dash for Demetrius Battle, and a 32-inch vertical and 4.75 40-yard dash for Nikia Eason Jr.
These eight now await the NFL Draft which is set for April 25-27 in Detroit.
