UAB Football Releases 2024 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB football program has released its 2024 schedule, which features six home games including early season contests at Protective Stadium with Navy and Tulane.
UAB opens the season with Alcorn State on Thursday, Aug. 29 at Protective Stadium. This will be the sixth time in the last seven seasons UAB has begun the season on a Thursday night.
The Blazers then have back-to-back nonconference road contests at ULM (Sept. 7) and at Arkansas (Sept. 14) before entering their first of two bye weeks on Sept. 21.
UAB returns home to open conference play against Navy on Sept. 28, followed by hosting Tulane the following week on Oct. 5.
UAB then travels to Army, the newest member of the American Athletic Conference, for a game at West Point on Oct. 12. UAB leads the all-time series 5-0 against Army as the two teams meet annually from 2000-04 as members of Conference USA.
Following Army, UAB heads to Tampa for an AAC game against South Florida at Raymond James Stadium. The Blazers defeated the Bulls 56-35 last season in Birmingham.
UAB then enters its second open week on Oct. 26.
The Blazers end the season with five straight games, three of which are at home and two on the road. After the bye, UAB has back-to-back home games against Tulsa (Nov. 2) and then a nonconference game against UConn (Nov. 9).
The Battle of the Bones will be played in Memphis on Nov. 16, followed by UAB's final home game of the season on Nov. 23 against Rice.
UAB concludes the regular season at Charlotte. That game is currently scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 30, but could be moved to Friday, Nov. 29 and that determination will be made on Oct. 14.
The AAC Championship game is scheduled for primetime on Friday, Dec. 6 and will be played at the home field of the team who wins the AAC regular season.
