Men's Tennis to Face South Alabama, UCF

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's tennis (5-3) will put its three-match winning streak on the line this weekend with a pair of matches against South Alabama and UCF. The Blazers will hit the road on Friday to take on the Jaguars at 11 a.m. CT before facing the Knights at home on Sunday at 11 a.m. CT.
The Blazers made their 2024 debut at No. 73 in the most recent ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings. UAB reached as high as No. 69 in the 2023 polls.
Carlos Gimenez Perez has won six straight singles matches and five straight doubles matches with partner Juan Pablo Valdez. Freshman Ondrej Valek is 5-2 on the year for the Blazers in singles competition while both he and fellow freshman Juan Pablo Valdez have won three-straight matches.
