UAB Men’s Tennis Battles Back to Beat Tennessee Tech

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's tennis downed Tennessee Tech in its home opener on Thursday afternoon at the Hoover Met Tennis Complex, 5-2. After dropping the doubles point, the Blazers came back to win five of six singles points, including three of which that came down to a deciding third set.
The Golden Eagles were able to control Court One and Court Two to take the doubles point. TTU won each court by a score of 6-2. Carlos Gimenez Perez and Juan Pablo Valdez captured Court Three for the Blazers.
DOUBLES
UAB was able to battle back after dropping the first set on four different courts. Georgios Nouchakis picked up the Blazers' first point after his opponent retired. Ondrej Valek picked up his second win of the season to tie the match at 2-2 with just three courts remaining, all in the third set. The Blazers were able to capture all three and secure the match with Iker Dellien winning each of the last five games in his third set.
