Men's Tennis Competes at American Fall Championships

Juniors Juan Pablo Valdez and Ondrej Valek represented UAB at the American Conference Fall Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

For the first time in UAB history, both players won their first-round matches at Fall Championship. Valdez defeated Crespi from Temple, and Valek beat Kolaric from Temple as well. After reaching the Round of 16, Valdez lost to No. 5 seed Cham from USF, and Valek fell to No. 3 seed Taco from Tulsa.

As the 5th seeded pair in the doubles competition, the Blazers defeated No. 4 seed FAU's Myslivec and Pazdera to reach the semifinals. In the semifinal match, the Blazers came up short against the No. 1 seeded pair Kuzmenok and Navarro from Rice who went on to win the tournament.

As the final fall tournament for the two Blazers, they finished with a strong result and will look to continue momentum in the spring.
