WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
- UAB looks to end a four-game skid, and a win would also break Army's nine-game winning streak, which is currently the longest active winning streak in the country.
- Led by quarterback Bryson Daily, Army boasts the nation's No. 1 ranked rushing offense with an average of 361.2 yards per game. Daily leads the conference in rushing at 120.4 yards per game and has added 10 rushing touchdowns this season.
- Daily is protected by an offensive line that was just named to the Joe Moore Award Midseason Honor Roll, which recognizes the nation's top offensive line unit. Overall, the line has paved the way for 21 rushing touchdowns in five games and has only allowed one sack.
- Army has also been stout on the defensive side of the ball and enters the game ranked ninth nationally in total defense (260.2). The high level of play on each side of the ball has resulted in Army being just one of three teams in the country who has not trailed in any game yet this year (along with Texas and Indiana).
- UAB sophomore tailback Lee Beebe Jr. has been running the ball well for the Blazers with 65 carries for 347 yards and three touchdowns. Beebe is averaging 5.3 yards per carry and has rushed for over 60 yards in four of five games this season. He faces an Army defense that is seventh nationally at stopping the run, averaging just 81.8 yards per game.
- With quarterback Jacob Zeno remaining a game-time decision, Jalen Kitna could earn his second collegiate start on Saturday. Last week in his first start against Tulane, Kitna was 20-of-41 for 239 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.
- Kitna's touchdown pass was a 73-yarder to Amare Thomas, which was a career-long for both players. Thomas is now leading the team in receiving yards (220), receiving touchdowns (3) and is second in catches (19). Through 17 career games, the sophomore has 72 career catches, which is 21 shy of cracking UAB's career top 10 receptions list.
- UAB's pass defense ranks seventh nationally by yielding just 142.6 yards per game. Army has only attempted 38 passes this season, but Daily has been efficient in the pass game, completing 17-of-30 for 380 yards and five touchdowns. He is averaging 22.4 yards per completion.
- Sophomore Jonah Delange continues to remain in the hunt for the Lou Groza Award as he is one of six kickers nationally with a minimum of nine attempts who has not missed yet. Delange is 9-of-9 on FG and 11-of-11 on PAT. He is 4-of-4 from 20-29 yards, 3-of-3 from 30-39 and 2-of-2 from 40-49.
Following the trip to Army, UAB remains of the road for a game at South Florida on Oct. 19. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
