UAB to Open 2024 Season with Alcorn State at Protective Stadium

BIRMINGHAM β Due to a mutual agreement between UAB and Alabama State to forgo the first of a two-game contract, the Blazers will now open the 2024 season against Alcorn State at Protective Stadium.

UAB's 2024 season opener against Alcorn State remains on Thursday, Aug. 29, as previously scheduled.

Alabama State will face North Carolina Central in the 2024 Orange Blossom Classic at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on Sunday, Sept. 1.

The second game between UAB and Alabama State scheduled for the 2025 season opener at Protective Stadium remains intact.

Alcorn State is coming off a 2023 season in which they finished 7-4 overall and 6-2 in the SWAC. UAB is 8-0 in season openers dating back to the 2014 season.

UAB's 2024 opponents were previously released by the American Athletic Conference in December and dates for the upcoming season will be announced in mid to late February.

Season ticket packages for 2024 are on sale now and start as low as $99 in the Family Zone season ticket. The public season ticket remains $180, and Blaze's Corner season tickets are also available for an affordable $120 per seat. Premium seating is available on the West and East side of Protective Stadium, and a limited number of Stadium Club seats remain for $1,100 per seat.
