Track & Field Completes Birmingham Stretch at Samford Multi Invite

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Track & Field competed at the 2024 Samford Multi Invite this past weekend. Throughout the three-day event, the team finished with five top-ten finishes.
The Blazers had notable performances in several events, including the shot put, high jump, triple jump, long jump, and 200m.
Senior Birthe Franck-Peterson won the shot put this weekend, making her place 11th in the AAC with a distance of 13.19m.
Several freshmen placed notably over the weekend. Mikayla Williams placed 4th, jumping 11.29m in the triple jump. Corinne Ball placed 7th, jumping 5.35m in the long jump. Closing out the freshmen was Gabby Washington, who placed 5th in the 200m with a 24:87 time.
Closing the meet, graduate Nia Hill placed 4th overall at Friday's meet. In the high jump, she jumped 1.61m, placing her 10th overall in the AAC.

On Friday (Jan. 26), the Blazers head to Clemson University to participate in the 2024 Bob Pollock Meet.
