UAB Football Alumni Celebration Set for August 12

BIRMINGHAM – Head Coach Trent Dilfer and the UAB football program invites all former players back to campus on Saturday, Aug. 12 for an Alumni Celebration at the Football Operations Center.
"We are fired up to bring back as many football alumni as possible on Saturday, Aug. 12," Dilfer said. "Despite only 32 years of football history, this program has been through the highs of the highs and the lows of the lows. We want to cultivate long-lasting relationships through the bonds that only these players have experienced together, and we can't wait to have everyone back on campus in August."
Along with watching the team scrimmage in the morning, Dilfer and his staff invite alumni to stick around following lunch to interact with position coaches, break down film and meet the current Blazers.
Following a full day in the Football Operations Building, there will be a social event that night. More information on that event will be communicated prior to Aug. 12.
A full itinerary will be sent to those who RSVP as the event nears. Additional questions can also be directed to uabdragonclub@gmail.com.
The Blazers kick off their inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference on Aug. 31 against North Carolina A&T at Protective Stadium. The home schedule also features games against Louisiana (Sept. 16), USF (Oct. 7), Memphis (Oct. 21), Florida Atlantic (Nov. 4) and Temple (Nov. 18).
Football alumni will also have an opportunity to renew or purchase their discounted season tickets at the event on Aug. 12.
