Hollifield Named to Conference USA All-Freshman Team

BIRMINGHAM β UAB Baseball's freshman catcher, Nick Hollifield, has been named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team announced by the league officials on Tuesday.

The Winder, Ga. native entered his first year as a Blazer as UAB's back-up catcher to Henry Hunter. Hollifield started 13 games behind the plate for UAB and through 44 at bats he collected six runs, eight hits and seven RBI.

Hollifield had a break-out game against Jacksonville State on April 25 where he went 3-for-3 at the plate β all singles β and collected 13 putouts defensively. The Freshman held a 1.00 fielding percentage with 103 catches, 96 putouts, no errors, seven assists and caught two baserunners.
