UAB Beach Falls to No. 15 Florida Atlantic in C-USA Semis

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The UAB beach volleyball team suffered a 5-0 loss to No. 15 Florida Atlantic in the Conference USA Semifinals on Friday, but will play again on Saturday morning for a berth into the C-USA title game.

After going 2-0 on Thursday, the Blazers (18-15) sustained just their first loss of the double-elimination tournament on Friday and will play the winner of No. 12 FIU and No. 18 Tulane on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. for the right to meet FAU in the C-USA championship match.

Arden Copping and Jasmine Haas won the first set on Court 1, but FAU rallied to win the second and third set against UAB's top pair. The Owls won every other court in straight sets.

UAB will play No. 12 FIU in a rematch on Saturday at 9 a.m. and the winner will advance to the C-USA title match to face No. 15 Florida Atlantic at 10:30 a.m.
