UAB WBB Wraps Up Regular Against Charlotte On Saturday

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB women's basketball wraps up regular season play at Bartow Arena against Charlotte on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
UAB LATELY
UAB (12-16, 4-15 C-USA) is coming off its worst conference loss this season, falling to WKU 91-69 on Feb. 25. The Blazers are 8-6 at home this season.
CHARLOTTE LATELY
Charlotte (11-17, 7-12 C-USA) has lost its last five games dating back to Feb. 11. The 49ers are 2-10 on the road this season.
UAB AND CHARLOTTE HISTORY
This rivalry began in UAB's first season of play during the 1978-79 season. In total, the Blazers and 49ers have played 37 times, spanning two conferences, seven states and nine venues. Charlotte leads the all-time series 21-17 and 10-6 in Birmingham.
LAST TIME AGAINST CHARLOTTE
Down 66-50, with 9:33 left in regulation, UAB went on an 14-0 run to make the score 66-64 and had the chance to tie at the midway point of the 4th quarter, but Charlotte would score the next seven points and hold off any rally en route to its 85-79 victory on Dec. 19, 2022.

UAB TO THE AAC
American Athletic Conference officials announced that Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Rice and Texas San Antonio will join UAB as new members in the AAC and compete against current AAC members East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The move will be official on July 1, 2023.
