BIRMINGHAM – As head coach Casey Dunn and the UAB Baseball team prepares to welcome Notre Dame and kick off its 2023 home schedule at Young Memorial Field, here are a few things to know when watching the Blazers on campus.
In September of 2022, UAB Director of Athletics Mark Ingram and Coach Dunn announced the addition of a new artificial turf field for the 2023 season. Construction began in October and concluded this past week. The Blazers are looking forward to taking the field on their new turf starting with this weekend's series.
PARKING AND FIELD ACCESS
With construction around both Young Memorial Field and Mary Bowers Field and 12th Street being closed, fans are advised to park in the lots behind Mary Bowers Field and next to the UAB School off Education. The lots are located off University Boulevard and 11th Street.
After arriving, fans should follow the path along softball's third base line through the concourse and across to Young Memorial Field.
TICKETS
The ticket booth will be set up for both softball and baseball between Young Memorial and Mary Bowers Field. Once fans receive tickets, they can take the sidewalk across to the baseball stands. This location will also serve as will call and service the player pass list.
Regular single-game tickets will cost $5 per adult and $3 per youth. Discounted group rates and fan experience packages are available with a minimum purchase of 15 or more tickets for only $2 per ticket to each home game.
The Blazers are set to host four Power 5 schools during the home schedule including Notre Dame, Mississippi State, Auburn and Alabama. Tickets for the premium games cost $10 per adult and $6 per youth and $5 per ticket for groups off 15 or more.
SEATING AT YOUNG MEMORIAL FIELD
When attending games, fans are encouraged to bring their personal lawn chairs for additional seating along the third base line and alongside right field.
BALLPARK CONCESSIONS
During games, fans can enjoy delicious food and beverages at the cashless concession stand. Forms off payment include debit and credit cards and Apple Pay. Items such as traditional hot dogs, popcorn and candy are available to purchase as well as grilled chicken sandwiches, nachos and more.
A new addition has been added to the concession stands – alcoholic beverages. Fans 21 and older with a valid ID will be able to purchase beer and seltzers. Alcohol sales will stop at the end of the seventh inning; no alcohol may leave the premises of Young Memorial Field.
Blazer Nation will have 21 opportunities to watch UAB Baseball at Young Memorial and experience great battles between quality opponents.
