Men’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's golf team moved up four spots on the final day of action at the Lake Last Vegas Intercollegiate to finish in seventh place overall on Wednesday at Reflection Bay.
Paul Bruce led the Blazers as he tied for 20th overall at +1. Bruce shot 71-74-72 in his three rounds to pace UAB.
Alfie Fox had the low round of the tournament for the Blazers on the final 18 holes as he fired a five under 67 to move up 26 places into a tie for 28th overall. Fox shot 75-76-67 for the tournament.
Cole Imig (71-79-75 = 225, +9) and Ethan Hagood (73-76-77 = 226, +10) tied for 48th and 51st, respectively, while Khavish Varadan withdrew from the final round due to injury after shooting 72-75 in the first two rounds.
No. 42 Little Rock (-20) won the tournament, and was followed by New Mexico State (-13), Long Beach State (-10), Arkansas State (+6), Kansas City (+7), Middle Tennessee (+8) and UAB (+15), who were in the top half of the 15-team field.
The Blazers return to action in two weeks at the Seminole Intercollegiate hosted by Florida State March 13-14 in Tallahassee.
