UAB Bowling Finish Sixth at MEAC #2

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Bowling team finished MEAC #2 in the sixth seed with a win-loss record of 4-4. Three Blazers placed in the Top-15 of individual standings.
UAB played a total of nine traditional matches that counted towards the overall record and one match against a BYE that just counted for total pinfalls.
On Saturday the Blazers started out strong from the start with defeating Delaware State by a single pin (950-949). UAB fell short in matches two and three, but the Blazers ended on a high note after defeating both Howard (964-817) and Coppin State (883-830).
UAB went 1-2 rounding out MEAC #2 after beating Maryland Eastern Shore 1,042-960 in match one of the day followed by bowling a 881 against the BYE. The Blazers fell short to North Carolina A&T State (968-864) and Monmouth (930-930, 127-67 in the tie breaker).
Keagan Trexler placed sixth overall in individual standings after bowling four 200-plus games with a highest of 239. Madelynn Oliva (12) bowled three 200-plus games (249) and Jamie Krasnigor (13) bowled four games 200-plus games (208).
The Blazers' next tournament will be the ISC/ITC Sectionals from March 10-12 with the location TBD.
