Pinch Hits: What You Need to Know for UAB Softball's 2023 Home Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Softball's 2023 campaign is underway! Under the direction of first-year head coach AJ Daugherty, the Blazers have gathered buzz as they make their home debut for the 2023 season this weekend, Feb. 17-19. With a diverse group of veterans, partnered with budding new talent, an exciting season of softball is coming to Birmingham.
UAB opens up its home schedule this weekend with the 2023 UAB Blazer Bash. Before you make your way to Mary Bowers Field, here is everything you need to know to prep for the 2023 season.
PARKING AND FIELD ACCESS
Parking for the home schedule will be in Lot F, directly behind Mary Bowers Field. Fans arriving from Highway 65 will get off exit 259 and turn right onto 11th Street South to park.
Access to 11th Street South will not be available through 10th avenue due to construction for Young Memorial Field. Fans are encouraged to utilize the University Blvd. route to reach Lot F.
The ticket gate is located at the main entrance of Mary Bowers Field along the third base line.
TOURNAMENT SCHEDULES
UAB begins the 2023 home schedule with two tournaments for fans to catch a full docket of Blazer Softball. UAB Blazer Bash headlines six opportunities for fans to see the Blazers take the field from Friday Feb. 17 to Sunday Feb. 19 at Mary Bowers Field. Matchups include Belmont, Lindenwood, Ball State and Samford.
The Blazers follow up with the Green & Gold Classic Feb. 24 through 26, featuring matchups against Cleveland State, Butler and ULM. All games will be hosted at Mary Bowers Field.
TICKETS
All-day tickets for UAB's two tournaments are available for $5 per adult and $3 per youth, which include the UAB Blazer Bash (Feb. 16-29) and Green and Gold Classic (24-26).
Single game tickets at Mary Bowers Field will be $5 per adult, $3 per youth and are available for purchase by clicking here. Fans also have general admission and chairback seating options for the 2023 season, including premium reserved chairback season tickets for $115. Gold Card holders can upgrade to chairback seating for only $50.
Group tickets and fan experience packages are available for a minimum purchase of 15 tickets to any home game during the 2023 season.
CONCESSIONS
For fans looking to grab a quick bite between innings, concession stands at Mary Bowers Field will be cashless. Debit and credit cards, along with Apple Pay are acceptable forms of payment.
Concession items include the traditional ballpark menu such as hot dogs and popcorn. Items available fo purchase include grilled chicken sandwiches, nachos, candy and more.
Alcoholic beverages (beer, seltzer option) will be available for purchase for fans 21 and older with a valid ID provided for purchase. Alcohol sales will stop at the end of the fifth inning; no alcohol may leave the premises of Mary Bowers Field.
2022-23 GOLD CARD
Season tickets for the 2023 season are available by purchasing the 2022-23 Gold Card starting at $65. The Gold Card will allow you to gain access to all home events for Baseball and Softball as well as Women's Basketball, Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer and Volleyball.
