Jermaine Brown Jr. Named to Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll

BIRMINGHAM – Running back Jermaine Brown Jr. has been named to the Week 10 Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for his career-high 210 all-purpose yards against Florida Atlantic.
The Hornung Award, which honors college football's most versatile player, named Brown Jr. to the Honor Roll after his outstanding performance in which he had 72 receiving yards (TD), 69 rushing yards and 69 kickoff return yards.
On UABs game-winning drive, Brown Jr. made critical plays as he totaled 34 yards which helped the Blazers kick the game-winning field goal with :03 left for the 45-42 victory.
Brown Jr. is playing at an elite level, averaging 155.5 all-purpose yards per game over his last six contests. He ranks 15th nationally in all-purpose yards this season at 126.2. The fifth-year senior is having an All-America worthy season with 479 rushing yards (9 TD), 30 receptions for 343 yards (1 TD), and 314 kickoff return yards.
One of the most dynamic players in school history, Brown Jr. is 59 yards away from becoming UAB's career leaders in all-purpose yards. He currently has 4,612 yards and is chasing J.J. Nelson's record of 4,670.
Additionally, he ranks fifth in career rushing yards (2,754), fourth in rushing touchdowns (27), second in both receptions (84) and receiving yards (714) by a running back and fourth in career kickoff return yards (1,142).
Brown Jr. leads UAB into a must-win at Navy this Saturday, Nov. 11. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
