Kelsey Smith Named to AAC Honor Roll

DALLAS – The American Athletic Conference has named sophomore Kelsey Smith to the AAC Volleyball Honor Roll on Monday afternoon.
Smith, a Cicero, Ind. native, had a stellar weekend against Charlotte, posting back-to-back triple-doubles on Friday and Saturday. She sits third in the nation in that stat category and is one athlete this season to post back-to-back triple-doubles, joining Amanda Otten (Sept. 7 and 8).
In her first performance of the weekend, she put up 19 kills on 48 attempts. She followed up with a 21-assist and 12-dig night. She posted four total blocks on the defensive front. Smith went on to total 13 kills and a career-high 29 assists with four total blocks on Sunday.
Smith has played 99 sets as of November 6, averaging 2.37 kills per set and 1.76 assists per set. She leads the team in aces with 42 and totals 73 blocks. She and the Blazers gear up for a trip to Philadelphia, Penn. to take on the Temple Owls on November 10 and 11.
