Jacob Zeno Named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – Redshirt junior quarterback Jacob Zeno has been named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance in UAB's 45-42 victory over Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
Zeno finished the game 29-of-35 for an FBS school record 484 passing yards and tied the school record with five passing touchdowns. All five of his touchdowns went to five different players.
Trailing 42-35 with less than five minutes to go, Zeno engineered the game-tying drive with a 70-yard touchdown pass and then the game-winning drive with 1:33 left which went 66 yards in seven plays and was capped by Matt Quinn's game-winning field goal with :03 left.
Zeno has now thrown for over 300 yards three times this season and continues to be one of the most productive quarterbacks in the nation. He ranks third nationally in completions per game (27.3), fourth in completion percentage (75.4%) and 10th in passing yards per game (298.6).
Zeno is closing in on a bunch of UAB single season records and needs 25 completions this weekend at Navy to set the single season completions record, which is currently held by Darrell Hackney (242).
Along with being named the AAC Offensive Player of the Week, Zeno was also named a Manning Star of the Week and was named to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 list.
Zeno and the Blazers face Navy this Saturday, Nov. 11, in Annapolis. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
