Jermaine Brown Jr. Named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – For his performance against South Florida in which he ran for a career-high four touchdowns and rushed for over 100 yards, running back Jermaine Brown Jr. has been named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Brown Jr. had 18 carries for 116 yards and a career-best four rushing touchdowns, three of which came in the first half. He spearheaded an offensive attack that put up a season-best 608 yards of total offense and 253 on the ground as UAB defeated USF 56-35.
Brown Jr. became just the fifth player in the FBS this season to compile four rushing touchdowns in a game. In the process, he passed Jordan Howard for fifth place on UAB's career rushing list with 2,541 yards and moved into a tie for fifth place on the career rushing touchdowns list (25) with Corey White.
Brown Jr. leads the team in all-purpose yards this season with 592 and is closing in on becoming the school record holder in that category if he can gain 603 more yards by the end of the season.
Additionally, Jacob Zeno was named to the AAC Honor Roll. Zeno was 19-of-25 for 353 yards and a career-high four passing touchdowns. It was Zeno's second 300-yard passing game of the season and he now ranks third nationally in completions per game (29.3) and fourth in completion percentage (75.5%).
Brown Jr. and Zeno lead the Blazers into San Antonio this weekend for a contest against UTSA. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
