UAB Cross Country Gears Up for AAC Championships

BIRMINGHAM – UAB Cross Country travels to Greenville, North Carolina, to compete in the AAC Cross Country Championships. The Blazers will compete in their first AAC competition at Overton's Lake Kristi, hosted by East Carolina on October 28, 2023.
The Blazers are one of 14 teams competing in the championships. The women's 6K begins at 10 a.m. EST/9 a.m. CST, immediately following the men's race.
UAB comes off a successful regular season campaign, with highlighted performances by Oxford native Katie Keur. The Freshman started her season with a top-ten finish for the Blazers at the Foothills Invite. Sophomore Sangie Lincoln-Velez finished with a personal best to close out the last regular season race at the Crimson Classic.
In addition to Lincoln-Velez and Keur, Anna Behmer was another Blazer to set a personal record during the regular season. She set a personal best in both the Southern Showcase and Foothills Invitational.
The Green and Gold finished in the top half of the pack in three of the four races for the 2023 season.
