Men's Soccer Falls to No. 4 SMU in Season Finale

BiRMINGHAM – UAB men's soccer (0-11-4, 0-7-1) fell to No. 4 SMU (11-1-2, 6-0-1) in the 2023 season finale at PNC Field, 1-0. The Blazers battled for the entirety of the match against the Mustangs but could not come up with a late equalizer.

The match was scoreless at the half despite the Mustangs leading 8-4 in shots. Jack Hudson was very strong in goal for the Blazers, recording a season-high nine saves.

SMU broke through in the 48^th minute on a free kick from just outside the box. Kyran Chambron Pinho curled his shot inside the front post to put the Mustangs ahead, 1-0.

UAB had a couple chances late but could only muster one shot on goal, falling 1-0 in the season finale.
