Q + A with UAB Baseball's Darryl Buggs

BIRMINGHAM - Darryl Buggs is entering his fourth season with UAB Baseball cementing himself as one of the leaders of this team for the 2023-24 season. The senior outfielder looks to be a large part of the Blazers expected success in UAB's inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference (AAC).
Favorite memory or favorite game moment with UAB Baseball?
My favorite memory has to be making it to the CUSA tournament. Although I was hurt, it was still an amazing experience being there and the atmosphere was electric.
Favorite baseball player growing up, or someone you like to model your game after?
My favorite player growing up was Jason Heyward back when he was with the Braves.
Any pre-game rituals or superstitions you have?
Before every game I have to eat blueberry waffles and bacon for breakfast.
Favorite flavor of sunflower seeds for the dugout?
Sizzling bacon or the Old Bay seasoned ones.
Walk-up song and why?
Anything Lil Baby because he's my favorite artist, and he's also from the same hometown as me (Atlanta).
Go-to pregame snack?
My go-to pregame snack is fruit snacks. Motts to be exact.
What have you enjoyed most with your time at UAB Baseball being here now on your fourth season?
What I have enjoyed most is the brotherhood I've created with my teammates. I've gotten close to all of my teammates throughout my four years here, and I can't thank them enough for everything they've done to make my time here special. I know I can always call any one of them at any time and they'll be there to help me out.
