BIRMINGHAM – UAB Baseball and Head Coach Casey Dunn welcomes Brandon Moore to the coaching staff as the new Director of Baseball Operations.
Moore enters his first season with the Blazers after serving seven years as Head Coach at Oneonta High School in Oneonta, Ala. During his tenure, Moore's teams compiled a 144-58 record and saw 11 players sign scholarships to play baseball at the collegiate level.
Before coaching at the high school level, Moore spent over 20 years playing professional baseball. As a player, he reached the Minor League Baseball Triple-A level before retiring and becoming an instructor.
Moore served as an instructor in the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals organizations. His main duties revolved around instructing the hitters and infielders daily.
"Coach Moore is going to add so much to our program. His experience at the professional level will be a great benefit to our players," said Coach Dunn. "Also, having been a head coach at the high school level he has strong administrative skills that will benefit our staff around the office and in camp development. Adding Coach Moore and his family to our staff fits so well with our current staff and our goal to develop our players both on and off the field."
Moore is married to wife Kerri and they have two sons Brody and Braden. Both sons play baseball – one playing professionally and one playing collegiately.
