Lisa Petkov Advances to NCAA Quarterfinals

BLOOMINGTON- Hurdler Lisa Petkov has qualified for the Quarterfinal Round of the 2022 NCAA East Preliminaries. Petkov's 59.25 second time in the 400m hurdles placed 24th overall in the event, allowing her to qualify for Saturday's competition. Kat Duren made her NCAA Regional debut in the 100m hurdles, and Anna Massa narrowly missed qualifying for the national championship in the pole vault, with a 4.21m mark.
"We had a mixed bag of results," said head coach Kurt Thomas. "Kat had a tough start and didn't get into the race. But this was a good learning experience for her. Anna jumped well and just had too many misses at an earlier bar. Lisa had a good race and qualified to be in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Kat had an outstanding freshman year and we're really proud of her. Anna has been an amazing competitor and champion for us. She's one of the best pole vaulters in the country and we're so proud of her."
Petkov will race at 7:25 p.m. ET on Saturday for a chance to qualify for the national championships in Eugene, Oregon. Her race will be livestreamed here.
