"We're proud of our ladies and the way they competed and represented UAB this weekend," said head Coach Kurt Thomas. "The conditions were not good and the whole team showed up, competed hard, and came away with some good performances despite the cold and wind."

The 4x1 team raced well and won the event, as did Ebony in the 400m despite strong winds on the backstretch. Lisa was the same in the 400m hurdles, she executed her race well. Laura Thompson had a nice 1500m PR, and Karlien threw the disc well in a PR for her. Julianne vaulted well and got a PR as well. It's nice to do well at home and in front of friends and family. I'm proud of them!"
Lisa Petkov's event winning time in the 400m hurdle race set a new UAB Track and Field Complex facility record.
The Blazers also honored their graduating seniors today.
The Blazers will travel south to compete in the Auburn War Eagle Invite next weekend.
