UAB Volleyball Announces 2022 Summer Camps

BIRMINGHAM-Β UAB Volleyball and Freeburg Volleyball Training LLC areΒ excited to announce that the 2022 UAB Volleyball Summer Camps are now open for registration! Three sessions are available on campus this summer.Β

Kids Day Camp: June 13-15:
This camp is a great chance for young volleyball players to improve on the basic skills of volleyball and have fun competing. Campers will be sorted by age and/or skill level. Campers will learn how to pass, serve, attack, dig, set and block* (*if skill level allows). The camp will be coached by UAB players and coaches. Each camper will be given a camp t-shirt.
Grade: Rising 5th-8thΒ Graders
Skill Level: Beginner to Intermediate
9:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. each day

All-Skills Elite CampΒ July 22-23:
This is the perfect camp for any experienced volleyball player looking to take their game to the next level or play in college. The campers will be grouped by age and/or skill level and learn how to train and compete like the UAB Blazers. The UAB coaching staff and team will teach the campers how to pass, serve, attack, dig, set, and block at the highest level. There will also be plenty of competition and strategic/tactical development. Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt. Dinner on day 1 and lunch on day 2 will be provided.
Grade: Rising 8th-12thΒ Graders
Skill Level: Intermediate and Advanced Skill Levels (some club or high school experience recommended)

Team Camp: July 28-30:
Β
Team Camp is directed by Associate Head Coach Ryan Freeburg who has previously directed team camps at the University of Alabama (2014-2018) and Samford University (2019). Camp will begin with check-in around 1:00 p.m. on July 28th. There will be seven on court sessions of 2-3 hours each with at least 1.5 hours of time for each team to have a court to itself. More than half of the camp will be competition and there will be a camp tournament during the last session. Each team will be assigned a coach for camp that will work with the team's coach and players to provide high level volleyball teaching and training. The UAB coaching staff will oversee this group of coaches that are hand-picked from high level college, club, and high school programs across the country. Camp will end after the camp tournament awards presentation around 4:00 p.m. on July 30th.Β Β This year's camp will be commuter only due to UAB and Birmingham hosting the World Games this July. Included in the camp fee is a camp t-shirt and the following meals: Dinner day 1, lunch and dinner day 2 and lunch day 3.Β
