CHARLOTTE – The UAB women's basketball team will open its final Conference USA season on Monday morning when it faces defending league champion Charlotte at Halton Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. (EST)/10 a.m. (CST)
UAB LATELY
UAB improved to 7-1 on the season after its 101-56 victory over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 17. This was the first 100-point game for the Blazers since 2019. UAB is 2-0 on the road this season.
CHARLOTTE LATELY
Charlotte (4-4) has dropped its last two contests – a road game at Clemson and Wake Forest at home. The 49ers are 3-1 at home this season.
UAB AND CHARLOTTE HISTORY
This rivalry began in UAB's first season of play during the 1978-79 season. In total, the Blazers and 49ers have played 37 times, spanning two conferences, seven states and nine venues. Charlotte leads the all-time series 20-17 and 10-6 in CLT.

American Athletic Conference officials announced that Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Rice and Texas San Antonio will join UAB as new members in the AAC and compete against current AAC members East Carolina, Memphis, Navy, USF, SMU, Temple, Tulane, Tulsa and Wichita State. The move will be official on July 1, 2023.
