UAB Bowling Falls to 16th Place at the Track Kat Klash

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Bowling team finished in 16th place at the Track Kat Klash this past weekend in Houston, Texas.
The Blazers took down three ranked opponents during the tournament: #3 Nebraska, #5 Sam Houston and #8 Louisiana Tech.
"I am very proud of our team this weekend as we beat three ranked teams!" Keagan Trexler said. "Overall, we are learning and growing amazingly together. I can't wait for the rest of the season!"
On Friday, UAB defeated #8 Louisiana Tech 969 to 862 in Baker match two and ended the day with a huge win over hosts, #5 Sam Houston 1,035 to 901.
During qualifying Saturday, The Green and Gold pulled out a five-point victory over Prairie View A&M (908-903). In the last match of the day, UAB defeated #3 Nebraska 1,057 to 1,029, and entered Sunday in 15th place.
Sunday, the Blazers dropped round one to Lewis University (2-4) followed by defeating Alabama State 4-3 in a best 4-out-of-7 matches, but then lost in the position match against Texas Southern (2-4) which landed them in 16th place.
Two Blazers finished in the top 50 including Shauna Rodgers and Keagan Trexler. Both bowlers collected one 200 game – Rodgers 234, Trexler 233 – and combined for 1,838 total pinfalls.
UAB looks forward to preparing for MEAC #1 this weekend, Nov. 11 and Nov. 12 in Millsboro, Del.
