UAB Baseball Announces 2023 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM βΒ TheΒ UAB Baseball team will compete against five Power 5 schools and have home-and-home games with in-state opponents such as Samford, Alabama and Auburn during the 2023 season.Β

The Blazers kick off the season in Mobile, Ala. at the South Alabama Tournament from Feb. 17-19. During the tournament, UAB will face Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 17), Northwestern State (Feb. 18) and South Alabama (Feb. 19).Β

The following Wednesday, Feb. 22, UAB will travel to Nashville, Tenn. to play the first Power 5 school of the season β Vanderbilt.Β

The Blazers open play at Young Memorial Field with a seven-game homestand starting with a series against Murray State Feb. 24-26. Troy will travel to Birmingham for a Tuesday afternoon game on Feb. 28.Β
Β
The Blazers conclude their homestand by welcoming Notre Dame to Young Memorial Field for a three-game series from March 3-5.

UAB will travel to Auburn, Ala. to play game one of the home-and-home against the Auburn Tigers on March 7.

The Blazers then travel to Atlanta, Ga. to play in a three-team tournament with Michigan and Kennesaw State from March 10-12 with a double-header on March 11.Β

Returning home, UAB hosts Samford on March 14 before beginning Conference USA play on March 17 with a three-game series against Rice at YMF.Β

The Blazers will play at Sewell-Thomas Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala. for mid-week matchup against Alabama on March 21.

Rounding out the month of March, UAB will head to Miami, Fla. for a weekend series against FIU from March 24th to March 26th followed by a home game against Jacksonville State on March 28. The Blazers begin a three-game series against Charlotte on March 31 at YMF.Β

UAB and Auburn meet again on April 4 at Regions Field before hitting the road for a series matchup against new Conference USA member Dallas Baptist from April 6-8 in Dallas, Texas.Β

UAB will host Mississippi State for a mid-week game on April 11 at YMF.Β

Continuing with conference play, UAB welcomes Western Kentucky to YMF on April 14-16 before meeting Alabama for the second time on April 18 at Regions Field.Β

The Blazers will then travel to Charlotte, N.C. for the second matchup against Charlotte from April 21-23 before traveling back to Alabama for a Tuesday night game against Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala. on April 25.

For the last series in April, UAB will host UTSA at YMF from April 28-30.Β

Beginning in May, UAB and Birmingham-Southern are scheduled to play a single game at the historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala. on Tuesday, May 2 for the second annual Rickwood Collegiate Classic. UAB defeated BSC 10-4 in last year's game.Β

The Blazers will travel to Ruston, La. home of the regaining Conference USA Champions Louisiana Tech for a three-game series starting on May 5 before a single game matchup against Alabama State on May 9.Β

From May 12-14, UAB will play Middle Tennessee at Reese Smith Jr. Field in Murfreesboro, Tenn.Β

The Blazers will meet Samford for the second time during the season for a mid-week game on May 16 at Samford's Joe Lee Griffin Field.Β

Closing out the regular season portion of the 2023 schedule, UAB will host Florida Atlantic for a three-game series from May 18-20 at home.Β

The 2023 C-USA Tournament will be held May 24 through May 28th in Houston, Texas.Β
