Walker Named C-USA Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – UAB men's basketball guard Jordan Walker was named Conference USA Player of the Week after leading the Blazers to a Sunshine Slam Beach Bracket title with wins over South Florida and Georgia. This is Walker's fourth C-USA weekly honor since joining the Blazers ahead of the 2021-22 season.
"Jelly" added led the Blazers with 15 points and five assists in UAB's 80-65 semifinal win over South Florida. UAB is the only team to score over 68 points against the Bulls this season.
Walker scored 31 points in the championship game against Georgia to go along with six rebounds, five assists and five steals. His six rebounds and five steals both matched his UAB career bests. Walker was named the tournament's most valuable player following his performance in the title game.
The Blazers' win over the Bulldogs was the program's first win over an SEC program since November 26, 2010 against Arkansas.
His 31-point performance against Georgia is his fifth game with 30 points or more during his UAB career. Walker now ranks third in UAB history in 30+ point games behind only Andy Kennedy (7) and Carlos Williams (6).
