BIMINI, Bahamas – Denim DeShields scored 14 points and was named to the all-tournament team in UAB's 99-64 setback to #12/13 LSU in the final day of the Goombay Splash.

Desiree Ware added a career-high 14 points for the Blazers (4-1) who were dealt their first loss of the season.

Angel Reese scored a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers (7-0), who led wire-to-wire

It was a one-possession game at 6:21 of the 1^st quarter after a Margaret Whitley 3-pointer made the score 13-10. LSU took at 10-point lead at the end of the 1^st quarter 27-17.

A 14-2 run early in the 2^nd quarter gave LSU a 21-point lead at 42-21 with 3:42 remaining. Their lead would get as high as 38 points with 2:28 left in the game.

Up next, UAB faces Western Carolina (3-3) on Dec. 3 in Cullowhee, N.C. The Blazers return home on Dec. 13 against Miles.
