Kells Named to 2022 C-USA All-Academic Team

DALLAS – UAB Volleyball's Alex Kells (R-Sr., Burlington, Ontario) was named and honored as a 2022 All-Academic Team member to Conference USA. The League announced their 11 selections Friday afternoon.
Kells represents the Blazers as the sole player in the Green and Gold to take the honor. However, her academic and athletic accolades carry far. Kells is ranked second on the team with 304 total kills for the Blazers. She's contributed 14 service aces for the Blazers, and 270 digs. In addition to her offensive efforts, she's been able to eclipse 1000 digs against MTSU, tallying a season-high 23 kills. She was named an All-Conference Second Team recipient in 2021.
On the academic front, Kells is on track to graduate with an MBA. The Burlington, Ontario native has been named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll five times (2018-2022). Her plan for her post-graduate endeavors keeps volleyball at the forefront, intending to play professionally overseas with a particular interest in the European circuit.

Kells finishes out the final match of her collegiate volleyball career in El Paso against the UTEP Miners on Nov. 12 at noon.
