UAB Bowling at the Dezy Strong Classic: Recap

CORMAN, N.Y. – The UAB Bowling team finished 13th (4-9) at the Dezy Strong Classic tournament this weekend in Corman, N.Y.
UAB collected wins against two top 25 teams – Long Island University (22nd) and Sacred Heart University (16th).
The match between UAB and No. 22 LIU came down to the wire, but the Green and Gold pulled out the victory by just two points (951-949). On Saturday, UAB defeated No. 16 Sacred Heart 833 to 792.
On Sunday, the Blazers opened bracket play in 13th place and played Molloy in a best of seven for match one where the team won 4-3. Moving to round two, UAB played Long Island University but fell short 1,322 to 1,235.
In the position round, UAB defeated Molloy University (837-678) to finish 13th on the weekend.
Three Blazers placed in top 50 for individual standings including Jamie Krasnigor, Keagan Trexler and Madelynn Oliva. Krasnigor averaged 185.60 in five games with one game over 200. Trexler averaged 174 even in five games while Oliva averaged 171.40.
UAB looks forward to competing in the Track Kat Klash this weekend in Houston, Texas.
