UAB Travels to Homewood, Tulsa for Fall Tournaments

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team will split its squad to compete in two tournaments this weekend. Four Blazers will compete in the Samford Fall Invite No. 2 in Homewood, Alabama, while three members of the Green and Gold will head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the ITA All-American Championships.
Parker Bradbary, Nikola Puric, Thanos Spyropoulos and Martin Vasquez will make the short trip to Samford for the Samford Fall Invite No. 2 beginning on Friday. Samford, Florida State, Lipscomb, South Alabama and Louisiana will join the Blazers in this weekend's tournament in Homewood, Alabama. Play will begin with doubles action at 9 a.m. each morning with singles to follow.
The Blazers captured 10 combined wins at the Samford Fall Invite No. 1 from Sept. 17-19. UAB earned seven singles victories and three doubles victories in its opening tournament of the 2021 fall season.
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michal Lusovsky, Vojtech Podzemny and Roman Postolka will compete in the ITA All-American Championships. Pre-qualifying for the tournament is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday with qualifying rounds set for Monday and Tuesday. The main draw for the ITA All-Americans will take place from Oct. 6-10.

Next up for the Blazers will be ITA Regionals from Oct. 14-19. Auburn will serve as the host school for ITA Regionals in Auburn, Alabama.
