UAB Football Gameday at Protective Stadium by the Numbers

BIRMINGHAM – The grand opening of Protective Stadium is less than three weeks away as UAB Football takes the field on Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. against the Liberty Flames. The highly anticipated matchup marks UAB's first home game of the 2021 season and the first event ever at the new, state-of-the-art Protective Stadium.
As gameday approaches, UAB Athletics will be sharing information about the gameday experience and important information Blazer fans need to know. Start making your gameday plans today, beginning with these five numbers.
45,000: Capacity at Protective Stadium
No bad views here. Be there for all five games with season ticket packages starting as low as $75. Single game tickets start at $20 and a limited amount of premium inventory is still available.
Discounted group tickets and fan experiences are also available for a minimum purchase of 15 tickets to any home football game during the 2021 season. Complete the UAB Football Group Ticket Request Form or download the UAB Football Group Ticket Order Form by visiting the group tickets page.
90: All stadium gates open 90 minutes prior to kickoff
Download your game ticket to your mobile device in advance and enter from one of the three available gate entrances: South, North East or North West.
We highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance, but if you need to buy on gameday, the main box office will open four (4) hours prior to kickoff and is located at the South entrance of Protective Stadium.
Protective Stadium has a clear bag policy in effect for all events. Bags must be clear plastic and smaller than 12"x 6"x12" or a small clutch bag that is smaller than 5"x7".
6: Parking and Tailgate Areas open six (6) hours early
Season and single game parking areas will open six hours prior to kickoff for the 2021 season. The exception to this will be the early kickoff time on Nov. 6 when all areas will open at 8 a.m. in advance of the 11 a.m. kickoff against Louisiana Tech.
Fans are invited to purchase parking in advance of gameday and utilize the Waze traffic app to find the best route to get to your reserved space on game day.
Tailgates are encouraged! Set up your tent behind your vehicle, hang your flags and fire up the gas grills. Click here for a list of recommended tailgate supplies and guidelines.
4: Blazer Village opens four (4) hours prior to kickoff
Blazer Village gets a make-over for the 2021 season. The fan fest area will open four (4) hours prior to kickoff and closes 30 minutes prior to kickoff to allow time for fans to get into the stadium.
Blazer Village will be located on the L-shaped grass plaza just south of The Southern Kitchen and the Uptown entertainment district, making it a convenient place to stop on gameday. Enjoy free interactive games for kids, face painting, music, UAB Bookstore pop up shop and more.
1: The 2020 Conference USA Championship flag will be raised during the pre-game ceremony on Oct. 2.
