THREE THINGS TO KNOW:
- The Blazers were once again in shells today, and will be in full pads for the first time on Tuesday. UAB will also hold its first scrimmage of fall camp this week.
- One of the two starting positions to be filled on defense is at cornerback. UAB's secondary is the deepest position on the team, and redshirt freshman Mac McWilliams has emerged as a player looking to contend for that starting spot. He has been running with the A1s and has had a very strong start to camp. Back from injury that kept him out all of last season, Starling Thomas V is competing well and looks fully healthy, while he and veterans Devodric Bynum and CD Daniels are also rotating with the starting unit. This group should once again be a strength for the Blazers.
- On Tuesday, UAB is the featured 'Film Room Team of the Day' for McElroy and Cublic in the Morning on WJOX 94.5 FM. The majority of the new morning show from 7-10 a.m. will be spent discussing the Blazers. Fans can hear interviews with head coach Bill Clark, offensive coordinator Bryant Vincent and defensive coordinator David Reeves.
