UAB Athletics Announces Blazer Gameday for Protective Stadium

BIRMINGHAM – With anticipation at an all-time high for UAB Football's game on Oct. 2 versus Liberty at Protective Stadium, the UAB Department of Athletics is sharing important details on the fan experience to help educate Blazer fans leading into the stadium's grand opening.

Fans are encouraged to visit BlazerGameday.com for key gameday information leading into the inaugural season at Protective Stadium.

BlazerGameday.com features parking and traffic information for each of the designated lots at Protective Stadium. Blazer fans are encouraged to visit the website to familiarize themselves for the most convenient traffic routes based on the parking lot pass purchased. The Blazer Express shuttle services from the Hill Student Center will be available during the 2021 season. The shuttle service is complimentary and available to UAB students and the public. No reservations are required.

UAB Student information is outlined on BlazerGameday.com. Student access to UAB Football is provided free of charge to all active UAB students with a valid ONE Card. Student tickets for UAB Football games at Protective Stadium can be claimed in advance at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office located at Bartow Arena. Due to anticipated demand for the stadium grand opening on October 2nd versus Liberty, UAB student tickets will be available starting on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 9 a.m. at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office. Student tickets are also available on a first come, first served basis on gameday at the BJCC East Exhibit Hall beginning four hours prior to kickoff.

Tailgating information is also outlined, including details about Blazer Village which will be located behind the restaurants in Uptown Birmingham. Protective Stadium tailgating policies can be found and fans are expected to comply with these guidelines.
