Kristopher Moll Named to Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Senior safety/linebacker Kristopher Moll has been named to the 2021 Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List, which is annually presented to the college defensive player of the year by the Maxwell Football Club.
A two-time First Team All-Conference USA selection and a 2020 Honorable Mention All-American, Moll is utilizing his extra year of eligibility to lead UAB's C-USA title defense as he anchors on of the top defensive groups in all of college football.
Moll has been a fixture on a unit that has finished top 10 nationally in total defense each of the last three seasons. The Miami native played linebacker the past two years, but is moving back to the star safety position where he played as a sophomore.
Moll enters his final year with 221 tackles and needs just 32 more to crack the top 10 for career tackles at UAB. Despite missing one game last season, Moll led the team with 59 total stops and added 4.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks, six QBH and two pass breakups.
He is one of nine returning starters on defense for the Blazers and one of 17 overall entering 2021. UAB looks to win its fourth consecutive C-USA West Division title this season and its third Conference USA Championship in the last four years.
This is the second consecutive year Moll has been named to the Bednarik Award Preseason Watch List.
The Blazers begin camp on Aug. 2, and open the season on Sept. 1 against Jacksonville State at the Cramton Bowl for the Montgomery Kickoff. Season tickets are on sale by clicking here.
